CSN poll: Pats fans would want Adrian Peterson

The idea of Adrian Peterson in New England is an unsettling one, and not just because he probably isn’t very good anymore.

Peterson’s off-field behavior — specifically his 2014 charge for assaulting his four-year-old son — has given Patriots fans and media pause about the possibility of the seven-time All Pro running back playing for the Patriots. The former Vikings star, now 32, met with the Patriots Monday but left Foxboro without a contract.

Peterson played in only three games last season, rushing for just 72 yards on 37 carries in a season that saw him limited by a torn meniscus in his right knee that required in-season surgery.

On Tuesday, we polled readers on Twitter about Peterson, asking whether or not a strong performance from the player would justify the team signing him. The poll was close, but 53 percent of the 3,167 voters said they would want the Patriots to sign Peterson if “All-Pro level” play was guaranteed.
