NBA rumors are now in full effect and Rajon Rondo finds himself front and center.
Celtics Insider A. Sherrod Blakely wrote earlier that the Celtics would be open to all trade talks, as Danny Ainge's job is to make the team as competitive as they can be going into the season and down the road.
Now, we can perhaps connect a few dots with the rumors.
Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick reports that Ainge is "highly motivated" to land New Orleans' Chris Paul in a deal that would send Rondo to New Orleans.
The problem?
Rondo isn't enough to make it happen. Amick also reports that Ainge is searching for a third team to make the deal work, which as of now, he has had no luck in doing.
The Celtics are set to have a lot of salary cap room next season, and will be able to offer major dollar figures to free agents. Having Paul on the team along with Paul Pierce may be more intriguing to someone like . . . Dwight Howard.
