Krejci (sore neck) expected to play Game 2

David Krejci was missing from the practice ice on Friday morning after a freak postgame accident where the giant pane of glass over the boards fell on his shoulder and head following Game 1s overtime game-winner.

The glass fell forward onto Krejci on the ice as the team celebrated Chris Kellys game-winner in the OT win, and Bruins coach Claude Julien said that the playmaking center should be okay for Saturday afternoons Game 2. Rich Peverley slid over to center Milan Lucic and Jordan Caron for Friday mornings practice at TD Garden with both Krejci and Adam McQuaid missing from practice, but the Bruins are fully expecting No. 46 to play with a sore neck stemming from the incident.

Hes fine. Hes scheduled to play tomorrow. Its not that big of an issue, He was scheduled to go on and hes scheduled to play tomorrow. Itreally is not that big of an issue although it seems to be right now but hes fine, said Claude Julien, while also terming the incident a freak accident that could have been a lot worse. We dodged a bullet there.

Krejci said that his shoulder was sore from pane of glass and that his face was cut after catching the butt end of a Jay Beagle stick in the mouth, but other than that the play was great Mrs. Lincoln.

It just happened. I feel good. Im going to play tomorrow, said Krejci. I didnt expect it, so I didnt know what was happening. But I just got up and skated away. I got a little bit of a sore neck, but I feel good.

The images on ice of the glass crashing downward on Krejci are bizarre to look at, and theres one with Brad Marchand and Shawn Thornton both with mouths agape as the center was temporarily pinned by the 100-plus pound piece of glass.

I didnt see it actually fall on him, but I heard it hit the ice and the aftermath, said Thornton. Ive never seen anything like that in my 15 years. I was a little worried.
