PALM BEACH -- Robert Kraft applauded the penalty handed down to the New Orleans Saints for their bounty program because of the message it sent to corporate partners.
Speaking Tuesday at the NFL Owner's Meetings, the Patriots owner said, "(Commissioner Roger Goodell's) job is to protect the game. We're privileged we have a 10-year labor agreement, 11-year TV contracts. Anyone that's gonna brand with us wants to know that the league is being run by a strong hand and I think he's done that."
Kraft passed on commenting on the Saints specifically, offering that, "The commissioner is the person who had the most information . . . We don't have the information. He came out with his decision and he has the support of the membership."

He also sidestepped questions about the salary cap penalties handed down to the Redskins and Cowboys that both teams are vehemently fighting this week.
"I think that's in the litigation phase so I'm gonna let the lawyers deal with that. (I'll) pass on that," Kraft said.
In years past, Kraft would be more free with his opinions. On Tuesday he said that, as he's grown older, he's made it a point to resist weighing in as often.
