Watch Jayson Tatum find out his ‘NBA 2K22' player rating

The 2021-22 NBA season is about two months away, and that means the release of this year's "NBA 2K" video game also is approaching.

Much like NFL players and the "Madden" video game, NBA players take their player ratings in "NBA 2K" very seriously. Many of them view a lower-than-expected rating as a sign of disrespect.

For example, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young didn't seem pleased to find out Wednesday that his rating in the upcoming "NBA 2K22" game is an 89/100.

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum received a 90 overall rating in the game. He wasn't thrilled with that rating, either.

Player ratings change throughout the season based on real-life performance, so it's very possible that Tatum's rating could be higher by the end of the season. As the C's guard said in the video above, he's "up for the challenge."

The highest-rated players in this year's game are Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. All four have a 96 overall rating.
