Stars, studs and duds: Kyrie Irving leads Celtics in third quarter

Here are the Stars, Studs and Duds in Boston’s 110-102 win over Philadelphia.

Kyrie Irving

He didn’t shoot the ball particularly well in the first half, but Irving got it going in the third quarter and finished with a game-high 21 points which included five made 3’s.

Gordon Hayward

He didn’t put up big numbers, but did a great job of seeing the floor in the limited minutes he was on the floor. He had nine points but also tallied a team-high five assists.

Jaryd Bayless

He has been a instant-offense kind of scorer throughout his NBA career, Bayless led the Sixers with 15 points.

Terry Rozier

It didn’t take Rozier long to make his presence felt out on the floor. He did a nice job of running the team and playing off the ball, before finishing with 13 points and three assists.

Marcus Smart

The red-hot shooting we saw in his first preseason game last week remains alive and well for the fourth-year Smart. He had 11 points, four rebounds with three assists and three steals.

Jayson Tatum

Making his first start of the season, Tatum made his first three shots of the night before finishing with nine points.

Ben Simmons

It’s obvious that Simmons is going to be a really good player in this league due to his size, court vision and overall instincts for the game. He had eight points but tallied more turnovers (5) than assists (4) and that’s never good!
