Isaiah Thomas is returning to the NBA.
The former All-Star point guard plans to sign a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, per The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The addition of Thomas to a mostly young and inexperienced Pelicans roster should provide extra scoring off the bench and valuable leadership.

New Orleans enters Friday 1.5 games behind 10th place in the Western Conference, which is the final spot in the play-in tournament for the last two seeds in the 2021 playoffs.
Thomas last played for the Washington Wizards during the 2019-20 season. His most recent game was Feb. 3 -- he didn't play in the bubble over the summer.
Thomas averaged 12.2 points and 3.7 assists in 40 games played for the Wizards last season.
Unfortunately for Boston Celtics fans -- who still love and appreciate Thomas -- the Pelicans have already played the C's twice this year. Therefore, Thomas will not be making another appearance in Boston before next season.
