Happy 40th birthday to The Truth, Paul Pierce.
The Celtics legend, now an NBA analyst for ESPN, was presented with a cake from his TV colleagues that was adorned with an image he'd probably like to forget from a series he, and Celtics fans, will always remember.
The cake had a picture of Pierce in a wheelchair being whisked away from the TD Garden court after Pierce injured his right leg in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Lakers in 2008. Pierce would later return to the game and help the C's beat L.A., 98-88, on their way to a six-game series victory and their 17th NBA title.
