Malcolm Brogdon a late scratch for Friday vs. Pacers

Malcolm Brogdon will not take the court against his former team on Friday night after all.

The Boston Celtics guard is a late scratch against the Indiana Pacers due to lower back pain, the team announced shortly before tip-off.

Danilo Gallinari (ACL repair) and Payton Pritchard (heel pain) are the only other players on the C's injury report.

Brogdon, the odds-on favorite for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award, dominated in his previous meetings with the Pacers this season. The 30-year-old veteran notched 21.0 points, 7.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds in two games against the team he spent the previous three seasons with.

With Brogdon out, Derrick White will play an even more important role for the Celtics on Friday night. White is coming off a 20-point, 12-assist performance in Tuesday's win over Sacramento.

Celtics-Pacers is set for 7 p.m. ET at TD Garden.
