Malcolm Moses Adams Brogdon was selected as the No. 36 overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2016 NBA Draft. He spent three seasons with the Bucks, earning the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 2016-17, before joining the Indiana Pacers.
Brogdon played in Indiana for three seasons before being traded to the Boston Celtics in July 2022. The Celtics parted ways with five players -- Aaron Nesmith, Daniel Theis, Nik Stauskas, Malik Fitts and Juwan Morgan -- along with a 2023 first-round draft pick in the deal.

Brogdon redshirted his sophomore year after suffering a foot injury the previous season. He went on to average 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game in 2013-14. In 2014-15, he was named a consensus second-team All-American as well as first-team All-ACC and ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
Brogdon continued to impress in his senior campaign, when he was named to the 35-man midseason watchlist for the Naismith Trophy. He also was named ACC Player of the Year, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and first-team All-American. He graduated from Virginia with a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in public policy.
Malcolm Brogdon's philanthropic work
Brogdon is the founder of Hoops2O, a nonprofit organization aimed at addressing the clean-water crisis, particularly in Africa.
In July 2019, Brogdon traveled with fellow NBA players Justin Anderson and Joe Harris to Tanzania to witness the opening of the first well they funded. By February 2020, Hoops2O brought water to over 52,000 citizens in Tanzania and Kenya and funded the construction of 10 wells in the countries.
