DeMarcus Cousins could be in Warriors' lineup soon

It’s looking more and more like All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins will be active in the Warriors’ lineup by the time they arrive at TD Garden for their first matchup of 2019 at the end of this month.

According to the New York Times’ Marc Stein, the Warriors are targeting Jan. 18 or Jan. 21 for Boogie’s return, squarely in the middle of a five-game road trip:

Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes is even more specific, pinning that Jan. 18 date as Cousins’ return.

The four-time All-Star’s entry into Golden State’s high-powered lineup could be just the shot in the arm the Dubs need after sputtering for parts of the first of the 2018-19 season.

Cousins — who signed with Golden State last summer on an unheard-of team-friendly one-year, $5.3 million deal — has been sidelined since late January 2018 with an Achilles injury. He's been a thorn in the Celtics’ side in recent years. In his last visit to the Garden, as a member of the New Orleans Pelicans in January 2018, he notched a double-double in 43 minutes as the Pels delivered an upset.
