Don’t miss NBC Sports Boston's coverage of Celtics-Knicks, which tips off Saturday at 7 p.m. ET with Celtics Pregame Live, and then Mike & Scal have the call of the game at 7:30 p.m. You can also stream the game through the MyTeams App.
Coming off their first victory of the season in their home opener - which featured a stirring, fourth-quarter comeback in a 112-106 victory against the defending champion Toronto Raptors - the Celtics are back on the road Saturday night to visit the perennially struggling Knicks at the so-called "world's most famous arena" - the mecca of basketball - Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks, still looking for victory No. 1 three games into the season, were at the opposite end of the spectrum from the C's Friday night when they blew a late, three-point lead by going scoreless in the final 3:41 in a 113-109 loss to old friend Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets.
The Celtics (1-1), who got a late flurry from Kemba Walker (11 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter) and 25 points each from Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum on Friday night, will see another former teammate Saturday in Marcus Morris, who signed with the Knicks as a free agent after two season in Boston. Ex-Knick Enes Kanter, a free-agent signee with Boston in the offseason, is still bothered by a knee injury from the season-opening loss in Philadelphia and is not expected to play. An ankle injury to big man Daniel Theis will likely keep him out and leave the C's a little thin in the frontcourt.
