Brad Stevens is at the point where he can't walk around Boston unnoticed. But his doppelgänger has some serious national recognition.

The Celtics head coach bears an uncanny resemblance to politician Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., who's a serious Democratic candidate in the 2020 presidential election.

Stevens has had fun with the connection in the past, and this Halloween, his wife, Tracy, coerced him into "dressing up" as Buttigieg after the mayor went as Stevens. The results were spectacular, of course.

During his weekly interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Zolak & Bertrand" on Wednesday, Stevens explained how the whole thing came together.

"I was just holding two pieces of candy," Stevens said. "Buttigieg did that in the morning last week. So then, my wife and a couple of our friends were like, 'You have to do something.' And I was like, 'I'm all about all of that stuff,' as you can imagine.

"So, it was not that hard to put a tie on real quickly, take a picture and hold a couple pieces of candy."

Stevens thought that quick picture would be the end of it -- until the photo went viral after his wife posted it on social media.

"No idea," Stevens said when asked if he and Tracy coordinated the costume effort. "Saw it just like you saw it."

Hosts Marc Bertrand and Scott Zolak tried to convince Stevens that he pulled off the Buttigieg look better than Buttigieg pulled off the Stevens look, but the C's head coach pleaded the fifth by reverting to coach-speak.

"I didn't really look closely at the play," Stevens deadpanned. "I don't know if it would have really fit the personnel or not. We have to look at all of that stuff probably a little bit closer."
