Brad Stevens 1-on-1: Get to know the coach off the court

Abby Chin say down with coach Brad Stevens for a 1-on-1 to talk about his time off the court.

He addressed how he prioritizes time with his family.

"They're number one, and so I don't do a whole lot outside the game and spending time with them," Stevens said. "I've been that way the whole time I've been a coach, because it's a lot of work in an intense period of time. When we get outside of the season, there's time to do other things and time to spend with friends. During the season, it's basketball and family, and that's about it."

With so little free time, Stevens doesn't really have a distraction that he uses to unwind.

"You know, I'm not very good at that. I like watching basketball. I don't watch any shows on TV. We talked about it -- I haven't been to a movie in like ten years. I like watching sports like every fan does," he said.

When the offseason does come, he makes some free time, but this year will be a bit different. Hopefully, he'll be headed for the playoffs. And then he's got some more plans for the rest of the summer.

"This is a busy summer for me," Stevens said. "We've got a couple summer leagues that we're in. I'll be obviously a part of the draft process agin. You hope to be playing past April 15th. And then I'm actually going on one of the NBA Cares trip this summer, so I'm looking forward to that. And then it seems like after that, you're right back into the season."
