Blue Jays' Saunders gets final A.L. All-Star nod, Pedroia third

Dustin Pedroia won’t be joining six of his Red Sox teammates on the American League All-Star team. 

Pedroia finished third in the on-line balloting for the final member of the A.L. team.  Blue Jays outfielder Michael Saunders (.298, 16 homers, 41 RBI) won the vote with 17.7 million. Pedroia (.305, eight homers, 35 RBI) finished third behind Astros outfielder George Springer. 

Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler was fourth and Rays third baseman Evan Longoria was fifth.

Giants first baseman Brandon Belt won the National League vote. 

The Red Sox' Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr., Xander Bogaerts and David Ortiz were voted in as starters for the A.L. All-Stars. Knuckleballer Steven Wright and closer Craig Kimbrel are on the A.L. pitching staff.
