The season began with Jared Sullinger out of the Celtics’ rotation. Today, he’s arguably the team’s most valuable frontcourt player.
Sullinger has emerged as a key to Boston’s quest to regain elite status in the Eastern Conference by doing what he does best -- score the ball and rebound. He's been particularly good when it comes to crashing the offensive glass, ranking among the NBA’s leaders in offensive rebounds per game. And while there were legitimate questions about his conditioning at the start of the season, Sullinger has done his part to alleviate any concerns regarding whether he's in good enough shape to play and be effective.
A restricted free agent this summer, Sullinger has played himself into what should be a nice payday . . . in Boston or elsewhere.
