BOSTON -- David Ortiz is back in the lineup and so is -- surprise, surprise -- Allen Craig as the Red Sox play their final home game of the 2015 season.
With Pablo Sandoval and Dustin Pedroia out of the lineup, the Sox -- who had been playing Brock Holt at third in Sandoval's absence -- moved Holt to second and Travis Shaw across the infield to third. In Shaw's place at first base is the little-used Craig, who has been a massive disappointment in his year-plus in Boston.
Ortiz had been given Saturday off, but is back in action today.
The Red Sox look to close out their homestand with a three-game sweep over the Orioles, who they've shut out over their last two games. The consecutive shutouts were the first since Apr. 23-24, 2011 against the Angels and the first at home since July 18-19, 2006 against the Royals.
The Sox have won 17 of their last 28 home games, improving to 42-38 at Fenway Park. They lead the American League in home batting average at .291 and rank second in runs at home with 5.4, only behind the high-powered Blue Jays offense which scores an average of 5.6 runs at home per game.
