QUOTES

* “Based on the weather reports we were getting this looked like it was going to go to about 12:30 [a.m.] or so tonight. Thankfully we had a relatively even-paced game, so we could get through six innings before it opened up. We kind of had a target on the time where it could get it jeopardy [and] it did. Thankfully we were able to score early.” -Farrell on dealing with the weather issues.

* “David Price was in control -- with of the exception of the change-up that stayed up to [Chris] Davis. He was very good, very efficient tonight...As we scored, yeah David [Price] was doing his job.” -Farrell on David Price’s performance.

* “Our rotation and our starters are doing a good job of keeping things under control...Our starters have set the tone in this stretch.” -Farrell on the starting rotation of late.

* “You can’t think about that. You have to continue to go out there and try to get outs...You have to treat every situation and still just try to go out there and make got pitches.” -Price on dealing with the rain delay.

* “It’s all on the starting pitching. We’ll go as far as the starters take us. We’ve thrown the ball well as a group over I don’t know how long, but we’ve thrown baseball a lot better.” -Price.

NOTES

* Travis Shaw knocked in his first run in since Aug. 5 against the Dodgers. He only has four RBI in August.

* Dustin Pedroia extended his hitting streak to nine games after single in the fourth on his 33rd birthday. He’s 17-for-40 (.425) in that stretch -- and hasn’t walked once in that span.

* David Price earned his first win since beating Tampa Bay in July 10.

STARS

1) Jackie Bradley Jr.

Bradley drove in four runs. The first two came off his go-ahead two-run homer and the next two runs scored on his double to left-center.

2) David Price

Price only made one mistake the entire outing (Davis' homer in the second) and it little effect on the game's outcome.

3) Sandy Leon

Boston’s catcher hit a monstrous two-run home run in the fifth and finished 2-for-3.
