Adrian Gonzalez 2005

Share

Stuck behind Mark Teixeira at first base in Texas, Gonzalez spent a good portion of the 2005 season with the Triple-A Oklahoma RedHawks, where he batted .338 with 18 home runs and 65 RBI in 84 games. Seeing there was no spot for him with the Rangers, many teams -- including the Red Sox -- approached Texas about a trade. On Jan. 6, 2006, the Rangers dealt him to the Padres with Terrmel Sledge and Chris Young for Billy Killiam, Adam Eaton and Akinori Otsuka.
