On Zolak & Bertrand, Scott Zolak reacts to the Patriots trading sony Michel to the Rams and remembers his role in the team’s Super Bowl LIII run.

Julian Edelman has stepped away from the game, but he's still close with several of his former New England Patriots teammates -- including Sony Michel.

Michel became a former Patriot on Wednesday after New England traded him to the Los Angeles Rams. The following day, Edelman took to Instagram to show love for the 26-year-old running back.

"We’ll always have Atlanta bubs, good luck out in Tinseltown," Edelman wrote.

Atlanta was the site of Super Bowl LIII, where Michel rushed for 94 yards on 18 carries and scored what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in the Patriots' 13-3 win over the Rams. Michel may have taken home Super Bowl MVP if it wasn't for Edelman, who caught 10 passes for 141 yards to earn the honors.

Edelman and Michel spent three seasons as teammates from 2018 to 2020 until Edelman retired earlier this year. While Michel battled injuries that forced him to miss 10 games over three years in New England, he rushed for over 900 yards in each of his first two seasons and was a well-respected member of the locker room.

"It's tough to see him go, for sure," fellow running back James White said of Michel on Wednesday. "He's a hard worker, tough guy, definitely puts the team first. Definitely going to miss him."

Edelman spends plenty of time in L.A., so maybe he and Michel can connect now that the running back is out in Hollywood.
