The New England Revolution's U.S. Open Cup run was ended on Wednesday night at the hands of Charlotte Independence.

After the game, Brad Feldman and Paul Mariner agreed that the Independence outplayed the Revs throughout the 1-0 loss.

"I think Herrera's goal was out of the top drawer, it was absolutely fantastic. Brad Knighton had absolutely no chance with it," said Mariner. "Defensively and shape-wise Charlotte Independence were superb and the Revolution just couldn't break them down."

The Revs go on to play DC United on Sunday followed by a match against the Columbus Crew on June 24th.
