Tight end Alex Ellis and defensive tackle Darius Kilgo were released while DT Xavier Williams and TE Paul Quessenberry were signed by New England, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Williams visited the Patriots for a tryout on Wednesday. The 28-year-old signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa in 2015, then spent three seasons there before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs as a restricted free agent in 2018.
In 44 career games, Williams has totaled three sacks, three forced fumbles, and 83 tackles. He joins Beau Allen, Adam Butler, Byron Cowart and Bill Murray on the DT depth chart.
As for Quessenberry, the former Navy defensive end visited the Patriots on Friday. He tallied 38 total tackles with 1.5 sacks and two passes defensed in 13 games for the Midshipmen in 2014.

Quessenberry joins a tight end group that also consists of rookies Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene, Ryan Izzo, Paul Butler, Jake Burt, and Rashod Berry.
