Anthony Davis trade request: What should Pelicans expect to receive for superstar?

Share

The biggest NBA trade development of the season came Monday morning when Anthony Davis, through his agent, requested a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans.

This news isn't entirely suprising given the unlikelihood of Davis ever winning in New Orleans, but now the Pelicans have less than two weeks to move him before the Feb. 7 trade deadline if they so choose. He is signed through next season, however, so there's no real rush to trade Davis right now.

The Boston Celtics, one of the teams usually linked to Davis in rumors, cannot trade for Davis until the summer due to a league rule (explained here). The Los Angeles Lakers are the other team often rumored to be interested in acquiring Davis. They do have the ability to trade for the superstar center midseason.

What can the Pelicans expect to receive in return for one of the league's top five players?
