The 2021 season didn't end the way the Boston Red Sox hoped it would, but it still was a memorable year for Alex Cora.
The Red Sox manager took to Twitter on Thursday with a message for fans after what he called an "amazing" season.
“Boston (to) Caguas,” Cora wrote. “Thank you @RedSox for an amazing year, special group. #RedSoxNation what can I say; AA++. Your passion was felt from 12% to 25% to full capacity. #FenwayWasLoud and fun. I hope you enjoyed 2021, like we did. ¡Gracias, gracias, gracias!”

Despite Boston falling just short of a World Series berth, it's fair to call the 2021 campaign a success. The Red Sox weren't expected to sniff a playoff spot, never mind take down the top-seeded team in the American League and battle with the Houston Astros in the ALCS. It's easy to see why Cora is proud of what the team accomplished, and what the Fenway Faithful brought to the table, after a miserable 2020.
Now, with heightened expectations entering the offseason, all eyes are on Chaim Bloom as Boston's chief baseball officer aims to improve the roster for another run in 2022.
