Revolution Classics: How to watch 2002 MLS Cup Finals vs. LA Galaxy

Share

With no MLS games for the foreseeable future, NBC Sports Boston will give New England Revolution fans a chance to get their fix by re-airing some classic games. On Saturday, we'll take a look back at the 2002 MLS Cup Finals between the Revs and Los Angeles Galaxy.

Unfortunately, many know how this game ended for the Revolution -- a 1-0 loss to the Galaxy in double overtime -- but it's still one of the greatest games in New England's history. However, it was really cool that Gillette Stadium was chosen as the neutral site to host the match... it was basically a home game for the Revs.

Although Carlos Ruiz scored the game-winning goal, this match was probably the closest New England has ever been to a championship title.

The Revolution and Galaxy ended the regular season at the top of their respective conferences, and it felt like they were destined for a championship clash, so it was terrific to see it actually happen.

This is a blast from the past, and you'll have the chance to relive the action on Saturday at 7 p.m., and you won't want to miss it.
