F Gustavo Bou receives visa, added to Revolution roster

On Monday morning, the New England Revolution announced that forward Gustavo Bou received his P-1 visa and international transfer certificate. Subsequently, the Revs have added the 29-year-old to their roster.

The Revolution also made Bou available for their upcoming match on Wednesday against Vancouver Whitecaps FC in Gillette Stadium, which can be seen live at 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Boston. Head coach Bruce Arena indicated that Bou will likely see the pitch then. Since Arena took over, New England is undefeated in eight matches.

"We brought (Bou) here to play, not to sit in the stands," Arena said. “Hopefully we can get him on the field Wednesday.”

Bou, originally from Argentina, last played for Club Tijuana in Liga MX. In 55 matches with the club, he recorded 21 goals and 14 assists. Bou's transfer fee is reportedly between $6 and $7 million. The whole deal is among the largest in franchise history, and could be worth up to $16 million.

"He's going to be a special player," Revs forward Teal Bunbury said.
