In addition to Lysell, Bruins prospect Georgii Merkulov also scored for Providence, as did veteran Chris Wagner as the Bruins earned a 3-0 win in the AHL season opener.
Lysell is an incredibly gifted goal scorer and playmaker. He's only played one season in North America -- 2021-22 with the WHL's Vancouver Giants -- since being drafted by the Bruins in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft, so it wasn't too surprising that he started the current campaign in Providence and not Boston.
