Thornton on Hamilton wanting out of Boston: ‘I don't get it'

It's no secret that former Bruins enforcer Shawn Thornton holds the city of Boston in high regard after spending seven seasons with the Black and Gold.

On the other end of the spectrum there's former Bruins D-man Dougie Hamilton who didn't seem all that enthused about staying in Boston, and that may have led to a trade to Calgary this offseason.

Speaking to reporters at his Putts & Punches for Parkinson's charity event, Thornton has a tough time understanding why someone wouldn't want to play in Boston.

"I'm a little surprised. I love Boston, obviously," said Thornton. "For somebody to want to get out of it, I don't get it. Especially in the first few years. It's his world, he had decisions to make. That's the one he made. Hopefully he's happy in Calgary."
