BOSTON – The Bruins have good news on the health front. Torey Krug and Ryan Spooner were full participants in morning skate at TD Garden and will be good to go against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night.
Spooner missed Saturday night’s win over the Stars while feeling under the weather. Krug was nailed from behind by a Jason Demers hit late in the game that forced him to exit the game and left some question as to his general well-being.
Krug said he was fine after the morning skate and indicated the hit probably looked a lot worse than it actually turned out to be.
“I feel fine. It probably looked a lot worse. I haven’t seen it to be honest,” said Krug. “It probably looked a lot worse than it was. Sometimes you’re not prepared for those [hits], but I’m ready to go tonight and I feel fine.”
But both were part of a full team skate for the Black and Gold, and Jonas Gustavsson practiced at the home end of the rink indicating he’ll get the starting nod against Columbus. Joonas Kemppainen was rotating in with Spooner at center on the third line and it will be interesting to see if Claude Julien is tempted to keep the Finnish center in the lineup after a heavy line of Beleskey-Kemppainen-Hayes had some good moments against Dallas. Here are the projected Bruins line combos and D-pairings against the Blue Jackets based on morning skate:
