The Boston Bruins have already taken care of one item on their offseason to-do list: Figure out the future of Jakub Zboril.

He's not hitting the free-agent market.

The Bruins announced Monday they have signed the 25-year-old defenseman to a two-year contract worth $2.275 million. The deal carries a $1,137,500 salary cap hit.

Bergeron's future at the center of pivotal Bruins offseason ahead

Zboril hasn't lived up to expectations since being selected 14th overall in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft. That said, he was playing pretty well for the Bruins this past season until he suffered a torn ACL in December against the Nashville Predators. The injury sidelined him for the rest of the campaign.

Zboril has played in 54 NHL games with zero goals and 12 assists.

The Bruins have a lot of defensemen, so there could be more movement on that front over the offseason. There are nine defenseman on Boston's roster, and only one of them, Josh Brown, is a free agent this summer.
