One of the Boston Bruins' rumored trade targets is off the board.
The New Jersey Devils announced Wednesday they've traded winger Kyle Palmieri and forward Travis Zajac to the New York Islanders for AJ Greer, Mason Jobst, a 2021 first-round pick, and a 2022 conditional fourth-round pick.

The B's reportedly were one of the teams to show interest in Palmieri ahead of Monday's NHL trade deadline.
There's no doubt Boston could use a proven goal scorer, and Palmieri would have filled that void. The 30-year-old has scored 20-plus goals in five straight seasons. So far in 2020-21, Palmieri has eight goals and nine assists through 34 games.
Instead of helping the B's turn around their even-strength offensive struggles, Palmieri will join a division rival that has won all five of its games against Boston this season. The Islanders currently are 25-10-4 on the campaign, which ties them for first place in the East with the Washington Capitals.
