With just a few weeks remaining before the NHL trade deadline, lots of teams around the league are about to confront some very difficult decisions.
Many teams are still in the playoff races across the four divisions, but several of these franchises need to be honest and decide whether buying at the trade deadline is truly worth the cost of valuable prospects and/or draft picks.
There's also the question over how many sellers we'll actually see at the trade deadline given how compact the standings are right now. Waving the white flag when the playoffs are still somewhat within reach is not an easy message to send to a fan base, especially one that hasn't tasted postseason action too often.
