Morning Skate: With Wonder Woman on their side, can Caps lose?

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while loving the atmosphere down in DC, where the Capitals might just be finally living up to their potential.

*The Vegas Golden Knights might just be in trouble when truth, justice and the American Way are on the side of the Washington Capitals. That’s what they had with the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, in the house for Game 3. No word if the lasso of truth was with her.

*Bob McKenzie reports that there have been daily talks between John Tavares and Lou Lamoriello on an extension with the New York Islanders, and that has to bode well for the Isles retaining their franchise player.

*Pretty cool as Capitals T.J. Oshie and Matti Niskanen both opted to take the Metro to Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final.

*Speaking of Game 3, props to Alex Ovechkin as he finally lives up to his massive talent at the biggest moments of the playoffs. This is what great players do when they’re finally securing their NHL legacy.

*Here’s what the Hockey News learned at NHL scouting combine week in Buffalo, including some interesting info on a bunch of high-end prospects.

*Congrats to PHWA member Larry Brooks on being voted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Brooks has always been an unflinching teller of truths and an excellent writer, but I’m not going to hold my breath for John Tortorella to do his induction speech.

*For something completely different: A massive Easter Egg article on "Solo: A Star Wars story", which had a pretty rough weekend at the box office. It’s kind of a bummer that this is happening to a very good Star Wars movie that’s paying the price for the sins of The Last Jedi, which a lot of people had some major issues with.
