Morning Skate: JVR aging well with Leafs

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while not even close to done with my Christmas shopping.
*Flyers defenseman Robert Hagg (no relation) has been the most impressive rookie in Philly this season, and I’ll always be in favor of more people nicknamed Haggs meeting success in the NHL.
*A good piece on Jordin Tootoo reflecting on his sobriety after his struggles with addiction earlier in his career.
*There is always plenty of drama in Wes McCauley’s game as he made an announcement during the Ducks/Rangers game.
*Keith Jones and Jeremy Roenick discussed the future of the Islanders during Tuesday night’s NBCSN broadcast, and wondered whether the new Islanders arena will be able to entice John Tavares to re-sign with the team.
*It seems like only yesterday that James van Riemsdyk was ripping it up at UNH, but now he’s hitting career milestones amid a long stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
*For something completely different: What an emotional moment between Magic Johnson and Isaiah Thomas, but all I could picture is how seeing Magic and Zeke in tears would have been a dream for the teen-aged Celtics fan in me back in the day.
