*The Calgary Flames believe that they have found a new power-play specialist in newly hired assistant coach Geoff Ward, who is a great guy and a very good hockey coach, and we all remember him well in his time with the Bruins. He was the power-play coach on the 2011 Cup team that went 10-for-98 in the playoffs for what was unquestionably the worst PP ever for a Cup winner, and the Bruins had some real issues with the man-advantage at times in Ward’s tenure. So believing that Ward is a power play whisperer might be a little too much expectation for a very solid assistant coach.
