Morning Skate: Bergeron best ever to wear No. 37

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading with Zac Rinaldo ready to be introduced to the Bruins media today.

*PHT writer and FOH (Friend of Haggs) Mike Halford has Marty St. Louis noting teams were interested in his services, but that his heart just wasn’t in it anymore.

*Here’s a fun gallery of the greatest NHL player for each uniform number worn with 10 Bruins making the list, including Patrice Bergeron as the best player to ever wear the No. 37.

*Alex Chiasson and the Ottawa Senators have a gap to bridge in salary cap arbitration talks for a new contract.

*Quebec City and Las Vegas are the only potential new team cities that made bids for NHL expansion franchises that are now open for the process.

*Glen Sather was a huge part of those great 1980’s Edmonton Oilers teams, and now he’ll get his own banner at Rexall Place.

*Allan Muir from Sports Illustrated lists off the top 10 off-ice hirings of the 2015 offseason, and the Bruins didn’t quite crack the list. The guy they fired, however, was at No. 2 on the list.

*Greg Wyshynksi says that the $8 million per season that Braden Holtby is asking for in salary arbitration is pretty outrageous. I’d have to agree on a young guy with no real rights as an RFA that will get that kind of money a couple of years from now.

*For something completely different: former roommates Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow visited with Jimmy Fallon on Monday night.
