The Red Sox offense has come to life. After a brutal start to the season, Mookie Betts, Rafael Devers and J.D. Martinez, just to name a few, have reminded us why the Red Sox ran away with the AL East and dominated their way to a World Series title.
Among the players to provide Boston a boost, Michael Chavis can't be left out. The Sox' rookie was in the midst of an 0-for-18 slump after a solid start to his pro career, but bounced back in a big way driving in a career-high five runs Sunday.
Chavis went 3-for-4 on the day to lead the Red Sox third consecutive rout of the Mariners. He is now hitting .282/.407/.563 on the year, staying in the mix for the AL MVP award.
After the game, J.D. Martinez commented on what it's like to watch Chavis take batting practice.
Once Chavis can get fully comfortable at the plate, the baseballs won't be the only thing that Martinez will have to feel bad for.
