Krejci, Moore missing from Bruins practice, some question about Game 1 status

BRIGHTON, Mass – The Bruins are already banged up with Torey Krug and Brandon Carlo expected to miss Game 1 along with injured fourth liner Noel Acciari. Both David Krejci and Dominic Moore were also missing from Tuesday’s final run-through practice at Warrior Ice Arena, and B’s interim head coach Bruce Cassidy couldn’t guarantee they’ll be in the lineup for the playoff opener at Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday night.

Both players have missed practices at times over the last few weeks to deal with nagging issues, but the Czech center has now missed the bulk of back-to-back practices into the first game of the playoffs. So this would appear to be slightly more than the run-of-the-mill maintenance for a banged-up player.

“I do expect them [to play], but I guess we’ll have a better idea tomorrow morning,” said Cassidy, after Tuesday’s practice. “There’s some maintenance work going on with them, so we’ll see where they’re at tomorrow.”

Instead Ryan Spooner was centering Drew Stafford and David Pastrnak, and Tim Schaller was on a bit of a makeshift fourth line with Riley Nash and Sean Kuraly, with both Moore and Acciari missing from the practice session. Acciari (upper body) did skate on his own prior to the main practice session, but isn’t yet a possibility to get back into games after suffering an injury in the loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Here are the line combos and D-pairings that could potentially face Ottawa in Game 1 if both veteran centers, Krejci and Moore, don’t respond well enough to treatment and become available for Wednesday night:
