The 2019-20 NHL season is officially upon us. On Wednesday, the league's 102nd season of play will begin when the puck drops between two of the Boston Bruins' rivals, the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
The Bruins are entering the season as one of the Eastern Conference favorites. The team has had minimal roster turnover and is coming off as deep a postseason run as a team can make without winning, losing the 2019 Stanley Cup Final to the St. Louis Blues in seven games. So, it's easy to see why they're expected to have another good season. And it also explains why NHL 2K20's official simulation had the Bruins winning the cup in six games over the Vegas Golden Knights.
Before the season starts, NBC Sports' NHL season preview show will break down the upcoming NHL season with commentary from noted hockey writers such as Bruins insider Joe Haggerty. They'll give their expectations, storylines to watch, and predictions for the NHL campaign.
