Haggerty's Morning Skate: Benn-Seguin aren't Toews-Kane

*Apparently Jim Nill thinks that Dallas has a cheaper version of Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane in Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. While I guess I understand what the Stars GM is trying to say, shouldn’t he wait until the Stars duo actually…like…wins a playoff series before we start wheeling out that comparison? Methinks it’s a little premature.

*PHT writer and FOH (Friend of Haggs) Jason Brough says that Jack Eichel won’t be attending US World Junior camp in Lake Placid.

*A really good piece on Duncan Keith that gets to the heart of the rumors with Patrick Sharp that cropped up last season, and the pending divorce he was playing through all of this season in a brilliant year in Chicago.

*PHT writer James O’Brien says the Michael Del Zotto contract is a reminder that the Flyers are in salary cap jail, and it serves as a good reminder that there’s a number of teams that may make D-men available right before the season due to cap issues. Any team with less than $2 million in cap space isn’t in an ideal place to start the NHL season.

*The New York Islanders and Garth Snow have been relatively quiet this summer and it’s because they have to be careful to avoid “salary cap hell.”

*Ken Campbell says that it sounds like Seattle is really gaining traction as an NHL expansion location along with Las Vegas, and that would make sense given the need for two Western Conference teams.

*For something completely different: apparently there is some hijinks going on with some random couches in alleys in Arlington.
