Goalie fight? On-ice melee nearly ensues in Bruins-Red Wings game

We nearly got an old-fashioned donnybrook in the second period of tonight's contest between the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings.

First, Boston's Brad Marchand made a hard hit on Detroit's Nate Jensen into the boards. Then Detroit's Tyler Bertuzzi wanted a go with the Little Ball of Hate. Then Boston's Colby Cave wanted a piece of Bertuzzi. Then Marchand wanted a piece of Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard as he headed to the bench on the delayed penalty call.

And then, well, things nearly came unglued.

And we nearly got an increasingly rare goalie-on-goalie fight!

After all that, Cave and Marchand went to the box for Boston, and Jacob de la Rose went for Detroit. The result was a Red Wings power play goal that made it 2-1.
