David Pastrnak makes Bruins history with goal against Maple Leafs

Share

David Pastrnak feels like a mainstay on the Boston Bruins. But he's still just 22 years old.

Here's a stat that offers a good reminder of just how young the Bruins winger is: His second-period goal Saturday night in a 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs was the 120th of his career, tying him with Barry Pederson for the most goals by a B's player before their 23rd birthday.

Pastrnak doesn't turn 23 until May, so it's only a matter of time before he becomes the most prolific under-23 goal scorer in Bruins history -- yes, even better than the legendary Bobby Orr (113 goals before his 23rd birthday).

In fairness, the Czech winger did get a head start, making his NHL debut at age 18 during the 2014-15 season. He's emerged as a prolific goal-scorer, though, and now is tied for sixth in the NHL with a team-high 26 goals on the season.
