Boston Bruins right winger David Pastrnak is playing so well to start the 2019-20 NHL season that he's joining legendary defenseman Bobby Orr in the franchise record books.
Pastrnak scored a goal and added an assist in the Bruins' 6-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night, which extended his point streak to 12 games.
This consistent offensive production joined the 23-year-old forward with Orr as the only players in team history to have multiple point streaks of 12 or more games before turning 24 years old.
Pastrnak has tallied 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) during his streak. He was shutout in the first two games of the season, but he's scored at least one goal or collected at least one assist in every game since.
He leads the NHL in scoring as well, one point ahead of linemate Brad Marchand. Pastrnak also tops the league with 14 goals scored, and barring an injury, he should become Boston's first 50-goal scorer since Cam Neely in the 1993-94 campaign.
