David Pastrnak confident Bruins ‘can bring it back home' for Game 7

The Boston Bruins know they have no margin for error moving forward.

After being pushed to the brink by the Toronto Maple Leafs after losing Game 5 of the series, the Bruins need to win back-to-back games to come out on top in their best-of-seven series. Despite the tough task facing them, David Pastrnak and the Bruins are confident that they will have a chance to improve and force a Game 7.

"Well, we won there already, so we know what we need to do," Pastrnak said, per 98.5 The Sports Hub. "[Friday] wasn’t our best game, and we know we’ve got better. So, we’re pretty confident that we can bring it back home, and we will."

This confidence is good, but the team is still facing an extremely difficult task. According to the NHL, teams that win Game 5 of a best-of-seven series tied at 2-2 go on to win 78.8% of the time. So, the Bruins are already facing long odds.

It doesn't help that the Bruins are 3-20 (13% success rate) in such series where they lose Game 5, according to our own Joe Haggerty. The last time they did come from 3-2 down to win a series came in 2011, when they beat the Vancouver Canucks to clinch the Stanley Cup title.

The Bruins will have a chance to back up their words on Sunday when they take on the Maple Leafs. The game can be seen on the NBC Sports Network and streamed on the NBC Sports App.
