Czarnik returns to Bruins practice wearing no-contact jersey

BRIGHTON -- While feisty rookie center Austin Czarnik is undoubtedly out for the first couple of games because of a concussion suffered last weekend fron a dirty head shot from Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas, it was good to see him back skating with the Bruins Tuesday morning at Warrior Ice Arena.

The 23-year-old center was wearing a red no-contact jersey and wasn’t part of the line rushes or the battle drills once practice started to wind down. But his mere presence on the ice indicates he’s whistling through the concussion protocol without any setbacks to this point.

Defensemen Kevan Miller and Adam McQuaid were both missing from the ice again on Tuesday after suffering undisclosed injuries last week. Miller is “being evaluated” for his injury, according to Claude Julien, and McQuaid is day-to-day. Rookies Brandon Carlo and Rob O’Gara are practicing with the team in their places while readying for the season opener Thursday in Columbus against the Blue Jackets.

Here are the line combos and D-pairings, which look very much like what we will see Thursday:

Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
Beleskey-Nash-Hayes
Heinen-Moore-Acciari
