Chara missing from Bruins practice for second day in a row

BRIGHTON, Mass – Day 2 of the post-Claude Julien era is underway with the Bruins as they again scrambled up the forward lines with Zdeno Chara once again also missing from the B’s fold after Don Sweeney said the B's captain was “under the weather” on Tuesday.

It’s hard to remember a time when an illness knocked the 40-year-old fitness nut off the ice for two consecutive days of practice, but that’s what has transpired since the firing of the longtime Bruins coach.

"He's still under the weather, so he'll be a game time decision tomorrow [against the San Jose Sharks]," said new coach Bruce Cassidy of Chara after practice Wednesday.

The Bruins also called backup goaltender Anton Khudobin back up from Providence ahead of Wednesday’s practice, so it was Tuukka Rask and Khudobin as the goaltending tandem at Warrior Ice Arena.

Here are the line combos and D-pairings at practice with the Bruins scheduled to host the San Jose on Thursday night after four off days following the disappointing loss last weekend to the Maple Leafs:
