The Boston Bruins have signed another one of their 2015 first-round draft picks. This time it's right winger Zach Senyshyn on a one-year, two-way contract with an NHL salary cap hit of $700,000, the team announced Wednesday.

Senyshyn was a restricted free agent this offseason. The Bruins selected him with the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft and he's failed to meet expectations so far. The 23-year-old forward has not carved out a regular role at the NHL level with only six career games played for Boston.

Bean: What's happening with Chara in free agency?

He has played the last three seasons with the AHL's Providence Bruins. Senyshyn tallied 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 42 games for the P-Bruins during the 2019-20 campaign.

The hope for the Bruins is Senyshyn is able to crack the lineup and play a role in the bottom six forward group. The B's really need more speed/scoring on the third and fourth lines, and it would help them tremendously if Senyshyn can provide those skills next season.

The Bruins still have a few of their own free agents without contracts, most notably top-six winger Jake DeBrusk (RFA) and defenseman Zdeno Chara (UFA).
