BRIDGEPORT, CT.The Bruins closed out their preseason the same way they closed out last year.
The Bruins came back from a 2-0 deficit to take a 3-2 victory at the Webster Bank Arena, home of the AHL Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Dennis Seidenberg won it with a ripped shot from the high slot area that bounced out of the net just as rapidly as it soared in.
The Islanders jumped out to a two-goal lead on a first-period strike from Isles superstar John Tavares and a second-period score from Marty Reasoner. The Tavares goal arrived on a 5-on-3 advantage for New York after Mark Streit blasted a shot that Tim Thomas originally saved, but a solid rebound bounced right out to Tavares' stick. No. 1 overall picks dont miss those kinds of chances.
The Bruins came back from the deficit, however, and began pouring on the offense once goalie Al Montoya had been lifted in favor of Evgeni Nabokov in the second period.
The comeback started with David Krejci running a 2-on-1 break with Milan Lucic, faking a pass to his big left winger and then firing to Nabokovs open stick side to cut the lead in half. Tyler Seguin followed less than two minutes later with his third goal of the preseason as he crashed the net following some solid Benoit Pouliot work digging a puck out of the corner. That set up Dennis Seidenbergs game-winning goal with a little more than eight minutes to go in the final preseason game of the year.
