Bruins' Brad Marchand plays ‘knockout' exactly how you'd expect

Brad Marchand doesn't change character for anyone. Even when he changes sports.

Conor Ryan of the Boston Sports Journal posted a video Monday of the Boston Bruins winger and several of his teammates trading hockey sticks for two basketballs and a hoop to play a friendly game of "knockout."

That's Marchand third in line, just ahead of defenseman Torey Krug:

Marchand misses his shot (that form...sheesh), as does Krug. Marchand then becomes *that* knockout player, whacking Krug's ball out of the picture before calmly making his layup.

Is Marchand breaking any rules here? Depends on how much of a knockout purist you are. But he's certainly pushing the envelope, which is certainly in character for one of the NHL's biggest instigators.

As long as Krug doesn't mind, the Bruins should let Marchand do whatever he wants before games; the veteran winger leads Boston with seven points (four goals, three assists) through five games.
