The Boston Bruins didn't wait until Monday to make a move ahead of the 2021 NHL trade deadline.

Sunday night, the team announced they have traded a 2022 third-round draft pick to the Ottawa Senators for defenseman Mike Reilly.

Bean: The last thing Sweeney should do Monday is spend

Reilly has a career-high 19 assists through 40 games this season. The 27-year-old has appeared in 244 career NHL games with the Minnesota Wild, Montreal Canadiens, and Senators totaling eight goals and 64 assists for 72 points.

The deal came about one hour after the Bruins, with a depleted blue line, suffered an 8-1 loss to the Washington Capitals. The NHL trade deadline is set for 3 p.m. ET on Monday.
